Welcome to The Martial Arts Center of Rochester/Harp Karate, offering quality instruction to people of all ages since 1978.

Founded by William Harp as a not-for-profit educational facility, the school holds its classes in a non-commercial and non-competitive environment. Here at the Center we focus more on the individual growth and progression of each student.

Sensei Harp holds the rank of Soke (So-kay), which means founder and head of the system. The arts taught at the Center are all influenced by Sensei Harp’s training, experience and insight.

With over 35 years of martial arts training and nearly 30 years of teaching experience, Sensei Harp continues to be directly involved with the education and growth of each and every student from the youngest white belt to the highest ranking black belts.

It’s true that you will become physically stronger, more flexible, improve coordination, increase mental focus and learn valuable self- defense techniques; however, we believe you will benefit most from learning and understanding yourself, finding your strengths and weaknesses and developing a balance that will empower you to become healthier, happier and more successful in your personal endeavors.
